Noah, was very professional and got the job done in a timely manner
The technician David was so pleasant and informative.. I am so happy that I chose Folkes for my Air Conditioner Service. My unit was down and now I am up and running…and I have some knowledge of what is cooling my home.
Replaced condenser fan motor under warranty.
Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. Changed the filter, strainer and nozzle. Took a combustion test as well. Found water damage to the ignition transformer and the electrodes very burnt up and pitted. Replaced both and tested the system. No other issues at this time.
Performed oil cleaning on the furnace. Changed the filter, strainer and nozzle. Took a combustion test. Looked over the humidifier which the customer said there was a leak from in the past. The solenoid opens and closes, with water on and cycling could not see a leak. No issues to report. The ac condenser for the second floor was coming on but the fan motor was not. Went over the wiring and the diagram and even made sure with tech support the wiring was correct. Tested amp draw and incoming voltage drop. The motor must just of been bad from the manufacturer since nothing is wrong with the incoming voltage and the wiring. Ordered a new motor from ral. It will be in tomorrow afternoon. Let the service manager know.
Installed new OEM fan motor. Tested unit. Unit had 18° split at supply and return. Pressures were fine. System operational.
Customer had no AC on second floor, air handler running and heard loud hissing noise at air handler, felt refrigerant lines and both very hot, went to condenser to find compressor running but the fan was not spinning we installed a capacitor same day earlier, found fan motor to be seized and motor could barely touch because it was so hot, a universal motor won’t work due to shaft being too long and would hit compressor, will need to get customer a new fan motor from Goodman and also bedroom doesn’t get a whole lot of air flow customer would like this looked at as well.
Outdoor unit was not running when I arrived. Found outdoor capacitor was extremely low on charged. Replaced capacitor. Hosed off outdoor coil that was plugged with dust, pollen, and debris. Checked pressures, which were fine. Checked delta T at supply and return. Unit had 19° split. System operational.
Performed annual AC tuneup. Clear drain inspected indoor outdoor capacitor checked indoor and outdoor amp draw’s on motors and compressor, checked filter, checked ductwork and wiring. Recommend duct cleaning. Also recommend UV light. Tested unit. System operational.
Recovered contaminated refrigerant from system, replaced liquid line filter drier, put system on pressure to check for leaks also sprayed leak bubble on braze joints where drier replaced to also check for leaks which no leaks, put system on vacuum to remove moisture from lines, recharged with 3.5 pounds of 410A, checked pressures 140/280 SH 10/ SC 3.5. Took delta t reading which was at 17 degrees, system operational and working.
System not cooling efficiently 84 degrees upstairs, checked filters, both dampers open, had a 11 degree split, went to condenser hooked up gauges and pressures fluctuate very low to very high, then remained steady for a few minutes then began to jump around again. System has contaminated refrigerant will need to recover old refrigerant, replace filter drier, pressure test and evacuate system, then recharge system again to test. Gave customer estimate will need to schedule repairs.
Found the condensate trap was completely clogged. Replaced condensate trap tested unit, checked pressures. System operational.
Completed annual maintenance on air conditioning system. Cleaned indoor coil, cleared condensate trap, tested condensate pump, changed Lennox pure air kit, inspected all wiring, took Delta T reading which had a difference of 17 degrees, at condenser tested pressures which were normal, outdoor coil clean, tested capacitor which was in range, contactor in good condition. System operational and working. Customer renewed maintenance agreement.
Upon arrival to customers house second floor furnace was working, customer said last night was 55 degrees upstairs. Went up to unit and system had no error codes, shut system off cleaned flame sensor and cleared condensate lines just to be sure, cycled system multiple times fired every time, customer said they changed filter this morning which was very dirty possibly could have been tripping on high limit due to bad air flow, if problem continues with high limit sensor recommended replacing.
Clean and service Gas Furnace on 2nd Floor, and clean and service oil on 1st floor
Could not diagnose issue. Spoke to dj senior tech will be out here first call tomorrow morning. Did not charge diagnostic per dj, will be charged tomorrow.
Performed ac tune up on both systems. Took pressure readings, cleaned all four coils, took amp readings and tested units. All components are operating properly. Recommended uv lights for both systems as there is some dust and build up on the blower wheels.
