Awesome service

The technician David was so pleasant and informative.. I am so happy that I chose Folkes for my Air Conditioner Service. My unit was down and now I am up and running…and I have some knowledge of what is cooling my home.

Cleaned and serviced oil boiler. Changed the filter, strainer and nozzle. Took a combustion test as well. Found water damage to the ignition transformer and the electrodes very burnt up and pitted. Replaced both and tested the system. No other issues at this time.

Performed oil cleaning on the furnace. Changed the filter, strainer and nozzle. Took a combustion test. Looked over the humidifier which the customer said there was a leak from in the past. The solenoid opens and closes, with water on and cycling could not see a leak. No issues to report. The ac condenser for the second floor was coming on but the fan motor was not. Went over the wiring and the diagram and even made sure with tech support the wiring was correct. Tested amp draw and incoming voltage drop. The motor must just of been bad from the manufacturer since nothing is wrong with the incoming voltage and the wiring. Ordered a new motor from ral. It will be in tomorrow afternoon. Let the service manager know.

Customer had no AC on second floor, air handler running and heard loud hissing noise at air handler, felt refrigerant lines and both very hot, went to condenser to find compressor running but the fan was not spinning we installed a capacitor same day earlier, found fan motor to be seized and motor could barely touch because it was so hot, a universal motor won’t work due to shaft being too long and would hit compressor, will need to get customer a new fan motor from Goodman and also bedroom doesn’t get a whole lot of air flow customer would like this looked at as well.

Outdoor unit was not running when I arrived. Found outdoor capacitor was extremely low on charged. Replaced capacitor. Hosed off outdoor coil that was plugged with dust, pollen, and debris. Checked pressures, which were fine. Checked delta T at supply and return. Unit had 19° split. System operational.
