We had a pipe leaking above our boiler, so we were temporarily stuck without water or heat/hot water. Folkes was the fastest plumber to mobilize for us. Chris did an excellent job finding the hole in our pipe. Someone else drove a part to our location to speed up the fix. Chris made the repair, made sure everything was up and running again, and flagged issues for future attention.

Noah and assistent replaced my water heater in the course of one morning. No doubt he knew his job and performed it both professionally and efficiently. Unfortunately, it borke on a Saturday, so it was necessary to wait until Monday morning for replacement; but first thing at 8:30 they showed up. Service for main water line leaking: arrived to find that the dual check valve on meter loop was leaking. Found that meter was over four feet away from where the water line comes into home. Also find that every connection to meter was a shark bit fitting. Explained to customer how we could bring it up to our standard at folkes and move meter over to where the water line comes through wall and install proper fittings and meter inline instead of on a meter loop. Explained to customer how this estimate would address leak and also bring it up to code. Customer is going to call town and get back to us. Customer refused to pay diagnostic fee. Customer is satisfied with service.

Found system short cycling upon arrival. Upon further investigation found cad cell ohms above 4000. Replaced cad cell eye assembly. Then found primary control had been leaked on by water feeder. Replaced primary control and tested operation. Cycled system several times and waited for all supply and return pipes to be hot. Boiler got to 180 degrees and shut off. Waited for temp to drop and boiler fired up and shut down after boiler reached set temp.

Customer stated that they had to hit primary control three different times, upon arrival heat was working, pulled nozzle assembly and had to adjust electrodes, cleaned cad cell eye, cleaned burner head, had oil flow, did find a broken wire coming from cad cell eye up to FF on primary control, cut back and cleaned up wiring, cycled boiler 5 times tapping primary control, boiler fired each time, flame nice and strong, boiler pressure at 12, felt baseboards which were warm, boiler cut off at temperature and circulator kicked on, we are coming back for cleaning end of the month, customer renewed maintenance agreement.
Folkes arrived on 01/03/2021 to check the jet pump. Upon arrival customer stated that she had pressure then it would stop and then come back on. I believe the pressure switch is bad or clogged. Due to the tank being at the right pressure as well as the pump putting out the right pressure. Customer is going to call a family member to come take a look and let us know if we are coming back to do the Job. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
This is to snake the kitchen line as well as replace the dishwasher tailpeice Folkes arrived on 01/03/2021 for a clogged kitchen sink. Upon arrival the sink was clogged and the dishwasher tailpiece was broken. I snaked the line a few times about 25ft each time and was unable to clear the blockage. I also replace the tailpiece. The customer is going to try a few things before we move forward with replacing or jetting the line. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
Service to find source of leak in basement. Inspected and determined that leak was from an 1 1/4†heating line riser pipe behind a wall on the second floor which was pierced by a nail when molding was installed. Customer was shown the nail that was in the pipe causing the leak in the heating line. Pictures taken and included in invoice. Leak was temporarily stopped by clamping a rubber gasket around the section of damaged pipe. Customer was provided an estimate to return to repair the section of damaged pipe. Repair would consist of draining down the boiler/ replacing a section of the 1 1/4†copper pipe/ filling the boiler/ and purging out the air in line to allow heating line to operate.
Found zone valve for upstairs zone not opening completely causing intermittent problems with boiler firing. Replaced first and second floor zone valves. Pumped antifreeze back into system and tested again. Antifreeze levels satisfactory. Checked system operation.
Arrive to customers house to perform annual maintenance, replaced filter strain or nozzle, clean heat exchanger, ran a combustion test everything looks good boiler is from 1988 would like a comfort adviser to come out for a estimate
Folkes arrived on 12/28/2021 for a leaking faucet. Upon arrival customer brought me downstairs to the faucet that was leaking. I saw a slight leak from the connection on the wall. I took it apart and checked the gasket. It seemed to be okay. I tightened it all up and turned the water back on. There are no leaks at this time. Customer is going to order a new faucet and let us know if it leaks again. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
Customer was hearing air in living room zone. Replaced automatic air vent, purged boiler and baseboard and checked system operation. 20 year olds oil boiler poor condition.
Customer stated that reset had to be hit once a week. Checked oil flow, nozzle, and ignition. Found ignition transformer becoming weak. Replaced ignition transformer and checked operation. Customer just has boiler service in fall. Customer used free service call coupon.
