Our tech Scott arrived on time, went straight to work, and finished the job expeditiously. All the techs at Folkes are respectful, courteous, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Couldn’t be happier with an HVAC company.
Not surprise for a bit but Folkes came through again. Always well service from the good folks people. Less than 24 hours later my AC is up and running in the family is happy, what more can I ask for? Noah kept me in communication the whole time was knowledgeable and thorough I didn’t hesitate to have him in my home without me being there, I know I can trust the good Folkes people
As a contractor I really appreciate good service and know how difficult it is to employ people that have a definition to customer service. I’m certainly not easy to impress but I was by Greg and Dillon..... even having them break me disappointing news I trusted and appreciated their knowledge and dedication. Guess I know why they call them ‘the good Folkes people’
Will have hear again!
Gene even took his shoes off without being asked as he entered our home. Sine we do not wear our shoes in our home, we really appreciated his courtesy and respect. Of course he has corrected our concerns very quickly
Response from Folkes Home Services:
We are so happy to have been of service!
Placed blower motor on low speed for homeowner. Checked pressures and tested unit. Replaced customers 1 inch filter with our filter, filter was clean but may have been too thick to run on low speed. After replacing with our filter unit did nit freeze over and pressures were normal.
Removed collar from supply trunk for vent going into office room. Screwed in sheet metal over hole on ductwork. Mastik sealant over sheetmetal after screwing onto ductwork. Placed insulation over repair and taped insulation over sheetmetal. Took pictures. Customer wanted me to switch fan speed from medium too low, system is strictly ac no furnace attempted to put on low and unit began to freeze over. Informed customer medium is as low as you can go for a/c or else unit freezes over.
Arrived and found water in the secondary pan. Found a new transformer that was shorted out pulled out of the unit. Put a new transformer in with a 5amp fuse in line with it and found that the old float switch was shorting the circuit out. Replaced the transformer, replaced the float switch, rewired the low voltage in the unit. Removed the water out of the secondary pan and found the drain was clogged and causing this. Cleared the drain and tested the system. System is operational. DJ to bill customer.
No heat on 2nd floor loft, found three supplies not pushing out any air flow, evaluated duct work in basement and access panel that customer showed tech, and found one damper in the closed position, opened, and noticed a slight amount of air flow to loft, (landlord stated she wanted the damper closed not opened, so I closed the damper and explained that when the damper was open it did help) duct work is extremely old and has a ton of air leaks, ductwork is not properly sealed which is causing a high reduction in air flow for 2nd floor loft, there is no access to ductwork to properly seal it and check to see if it’s properly connected. Would not recommend opening up Sheetrock to find and re-seal due to the amount of Sheetrock that would have to be removed to gain full access of ductwork. recommend install of ductless units. Customer would like duct cleaning done on three vents on 2nd floor loft, wants us to check to see if there’s any small attachments to put onto duct cleaning hose

Service to arrived at customers house and at the request ran the showers and bathrooms upstairs looked for any signs of leaks did not find any at this time and then also ran the washing machine for their clothes on amid setting and let it discharge and it did not back up it worked I looked at their plumbing for the clothes washer and the bar sink off in the other room that all needs to be cut out and redone we will send estimate for that and I also camera the line going outside and found that there’s a lot of scale buildup on the cast-iron along with the repair made outside being offset and will need to be dug up and corrected to help prevent major back ups again will make estimates for all this and send it to the customer.
Arrived at customers home to retrieve snake as well as inspect the line with the camera. Need customers email to be able to email estimate to them
Arrived at customers home to attempt to open a laundry drain line. I began by finding access point where I could attempt to open the drain line. I then proceeded to run pistol snake through cleanout and attempted to open the the drain line ran pistol snake for approximately 20 minutes and then ran water through laundry drain line to test drainage but line was still clogged. I then noticed a cleanout in the floor that the laundry line might be connected to I opened cleanout and sent camera down the line but camera was completely submerged in water. I then notified customer that I would have to run the main line cable machine to attempt to open drain line. Customer agreed so I ran cable machine line through the first time for about 10-15 minute and pulled hair and toilet paper back on the end of the cable machine. I then had customer flush the toilet but line was still clogged so I decided to run cable machine again for another 10-15 mins but this time I felt as if I pushed something thr

No ac. We were out here last year and found r22 ductless unit low on pressure. Gave customer estimate to replace. Customer installed a Do It Yourself Condenser and 2 Heads himself. Spoke with Dj before touching units and informed him of situation. Informed customer we do not work on these do it yourself units and he could possibly find a company that does, if not he needs to find a handyman in the side.
