No heat on 2nd floor loft, found three supplies not pushing out any air flow, evaluated duct work in basement and access panel that customer showed tech, and found one damper in the closed position, opened, and noticed a slight amount of air flow to loft, (landlord stated she wanted the damper closed not opened, so I closed the damper and explained that when the damper was open it did help) duct work is extremely old and has a ton of air leaks, ductwork is not properly sealed which is causing a high reduction in air flow for 2nd floor loft, there is no access to ductwork to properly seal it and check to see if it’s properly connected. Would not recommend opening up Sheetrock to find and re-seal due to the amount of Sheetrock that would have to be removed to gain full access of ductwork. recommend install of ductless units. Customer would like duct cleaning done on three vents on 2nd floor loft, wants us to check to see if there’s any small attachments to put onto duct cleaning hose
