Upon arrival turned heat pump on and heard compressor start up. Could not hear any banging noise at this time. Advise to install Hard start kit to help compressor start up easier. Customer will discuss with husband, emailed customer estimate for hard start kit and would have it installed at time of yearly servicing.
Service for leak under the kitchen sink. Arrived to the home to find that there is corrosion on the gate valve that feeds the dishwasher and has warped the bottom of the cabinet below the valve. The valve is not currently leaking however you can see where it was leaking recently. Recommend a small repipe and replacing the gate valve with an actual emergency valve for the dishwasher. Customer has a water treatment system, but the valve is old and this corrosion has been going of for quite some time. Shut the water off to the home and drain down the system. Attempted to remove the old hot valve for the dishwasher but the pipes are too warped and bent. Had to remove most of the hot water line under the sink and pressed in new copper lines and new valve for the dishwasher. Also put a new hose clamp on the dishwasher drain tube. Turned the water on and tested for leaks. There are no leaks at this time. Customer also signed up for the annual plumbing membership add on to his existing heating
Service for main line blockage. The entire house is backing up and the sewer main is. Completely filled with water. There is no access to the drainage inside the home. Even if we could open the sewer main inside, there would be a flood of water and sewage into the basement. Customer had an excavator that was able to expose the septic tank and we were able to get a camera in the side inlet and found a blockage about 12 feet from the septic. Recommend trying to remove the blockage with a snake first to allow the water in the system to drain down. If the snake cannot remove the blockage, we will have to move forward with a hydro jetting. There is a possibility that the pipe is broken or separated where the newer sdr connects to the old cast iron pipe which comes out through the foundation. If there is a break, we will have to dig up the pipe and replace it at additional cost. The camera inspection showed a break in the line where they connected the sdr to the existing cast iron. Performed oil cleaning, found hot water indirect tank rusted thru and needs replacement. Found expansion tank water logged and air vents not removing air from system.
Folkes arrived on 10/14/2021 to replace the anode rod in the water heater. I started by turning the power off to the water heater and began to depressurization the unit. I then located the rod and removed the old one. I then installed a new electric anode rod. I tightened and re pressurized the unit to check for leaks. There are no leaks at this time. I then turned the power back on. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
Cleaned and serviced one oil boiler with MA. No issues to report and system operational.
