2011 Lennox ac low on refrigerant and bad capacitor. Customer expressed that unit was recharged a couple years ago. Informed customer about the options for leak search, cost to replace a coil out of warranty as well as charging the system or/and replacing. Customer decided to replace capacitor and charge the unit. Aware that it’s hard to tell how long it will run before gets low again. Left unit with new capacitor, clean condenser, and super heat within range.
Cleaned and checked operation of equipment. Installed surge protection and found no issues with system.
Performed maintenance on equipment. Changed 16-25-1 filter. AC thermostat wires were pinched going into the furnace. Loosened connection and system kicked on. All checks were good.
Thermostat wiring was a mess behind stat that had g and c wires crossed and touching causing a short when call for cool was present. Shortened wires and secured them neatly. Replaced stat and tested system for proper operation. Customer was curious about indoor air quality products and requested some quotes which I provided.
Concern customer had was the blowers never shut off after heat demand was satisfied. Found that both thermostats fan option was set to on instead of auto. Switched fan setting to auto to correct issue. Two 1994 80% bard gas furnaces. Combustion analysis tested fine on units but efficiency has dropped to 77%. Units are past their life expectancy and showing their age. Customer has requested an appointment to get pricing for new equipment. Estimate is scheduled December 22 from 9-11am.

Commercial Service Fee Error code for open pressure switch. Resolved by removing two birds and a nest from the exhaust and inducer assembly. Condensate pump is cracked and should be replaced and the TXV needs Re-insulated. Customers gas provider is being contacted about the gas pressure dropping out, but after that is corrected, both systems should have a maintenance done to set the correct gas pressures. The inside of the heat exchanger is black with soot. This is a indication of a bad gas to oxygen ratio which is directly linking to gas pressure, if this is not adjusted in before use each year it will have a big impact on the life of the system as that build up of residue is acidic and will eat through the heat exchanger. Performed Platinum Comfort Club Membership Tune-Up on Heating System 2021 Ruud heat pump system w/ AA213 filter. Replaced filter. Backup heat is propane. All checks good at this time
Service Call Platinum Client: Ductless unit in the IT room had a fault code for discharge temperature error. Checked the refrigerant pressure and found it to be low. Checked the flare fittings in the IT room for leaks and they were good. Found a leaking valve core on the suction valve outside at the condenser unit. Tightened valve and verified it was no longer leaking. Added 3 pounds of 410a refrigerant. Checked refrigerant pressure and temperatures. Everything checks out good. Delta T of 20 degrees inside the IT room. No further action needed at this time.
Service Call Fee: Upon inspection found unit very low on refrigerant customer stated they had another company put stop leak and a pound and a half of refrigerant beginning of week that has already leaked out. Suggested a new system.
Service Call Platinum Client- replaced failed capacitor on 17yr old ac unit. System has high head pressure (400psi). Unable to clean unit condenser coil today due the the water being shut off(water company is working on the water lines down the street). Set customer up on maintenance plan so the unit can be cleaned at a later date when maintenance is scheduled. Furnace is 27 yrs old and is showing it age. Blower motor is getting caked with dirt.
Examined system and found no issues. Filter size 20-25-1. Tested system in cooling and heat mode and was able to get both to work properly.
