Performed Platinum Comfort Club Membership Tune-Up on Heating System (2) 2014 York split systems using 14x25x1 and 16x20x1 filters. Both 70 percenter flue vents and cooling off of r410a refrigerant. Service Call Fee: refrigerant pressure looks good(125/305). Blower wheel has some build up on it but evaporator coil looks clean. Evaporator coil is an N coil, removed metal plate on right side that may have been hampering airflow through the coil. Also found several return grates upstairs that have been obstructed. Informed customer to keep return air area clear to prevent poor airflow of the system. I recommend an air cleaner and maintenance for the system.
Performed Platinum Comfort Club Membership Tune-Up on Cooling System found AA 501 filter to be clogged. this likely caused Evaporator coil to freeze in cooling this preventing system from keeping up. signed customer up on cozy plus maintenance plan, performed cooling check, found capacitor to be failed and replaced it, replaced AA 501 filter, found thermostat wire to outdoor unit to be damaged with bare copper showing. recommended replacing entire run of thermostat wire from indoor unit to outdoor unit. customer declined at this time. recommended installing surge protector for AC to protect system from potential surge.
since blower is not starting every time and when it does the furnace limits out in only a few minutes, customer is not going to run it. has woodstove as backup. would like estimate to replace. scheduled for comfort advisor to provide estimate this evening.
Service Call Platinum Client did find blower capacitor to be failed , replaced cap and did notify since the cap was dead that very likely the blower motor is going to fail soon as well . motor pulling elevated amps.
