I had my a/c break down on Friday evening and called Hot2Cold on Saturday morning. We scheduled an appointment for Monday at 12-2 PM . Luis showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor. Fixed it immediately and within an hour or so was on his way. I highly recommend this company and Luis for their excellent service!
I called because my living room mini split was not functioning properly. I had fans blowing from the bedrooms to keep the temperature cool. The technician wanted to argue that it was almost the same temperature in the living room as the bedroom even though I explained why. He checked the output from the vents and told me they were blowing the same temperature but didn’t seem to realize they should be blowing different based on the setting. I was told that I would receive a follow up call but three days have passed and no follow up. This system cost almost $13,000 and has a 12 year parts and labor but has required multiple service calls.
John and his partner were very professional and courteous. They covered their feet upon entering, explained everything, and quickly completed the job!!! I highly recommend them! Thanks!
Maintenanced the 2 rooftop units. Cleaned out both drain lines Checked filters Checked fan speeds on both units. Cleaned all supply and return grills Recommend replacing unit 2 as soon as possible. Found a few rust cracks in bottom of unit which is allowing water to drip down into building when it rains outside. Recommend also getting the curb sealed properly around the new unit once it’s replaced. Not sure if there is a “bandaid” service to prevent the water going into building other than replacing unit.
Condenser fan motor went out compressor kept running burnt compressor out gave quote for fan motor and compressor then gave quote for system change. It is a vertical in the garage 2.5 ton.
Quarterly Filter Changes and wipe down of vents completed.
- After several failed attempts to stop the water intrusion a system replacement is required. The unit is rusted through in several places and allowing water to drain through the unit into the building. The structure of the system is the issue, so there isn’t a part that can be replaced. - Replacement of the Carrier rooftop package system.
Today James visited the Walsingham location to evaluate the reoccurring water intrusion from the system at the Walsingham location. The system is rusted through and allowing water to leak through the unit into the office. The machine requires replacement. James put together the relevant information and sent it to Maireni, Christi and Charlene.
The return for the RTU system is full of water again looking at pictures was not able to get on the roof because I didn’t have extension ladder. The unit is rusty inside think the unit is leaking through into the return. My opinion is time to replace that old system.
Upon arrival found clogged drain. And drain pipe disconnected Added drain solve and hot water shop vacuum drain and unit is running. Office will call on Monday to set up appointment with James for new unit estimate.
Upon arrival unit was not working found faulty capacitor 35/5 unit need Freon and maintenance. Home owner doesn’t want any of those for now. Unit is 10 year older.
Upon arrival home owner replace thermostat he wire incorrectly and I fix properly. And also found clogged drain customer refused to clear the drain he said he will do it and also need refrigerant he said not at this moment.
Today we visited to provide pricing to replace the AC unit and ductwork.
System had an issue with water coming from return grill. Technician opened up package unit system and diagnosed that drain line was severely clogged causing the water to overflow internal drain pan. Drain line was fully cleaned and flushed. Internal pan was also cleaned. Checked refrigerant and found it to be at the proper level. System is running and cooling well. Made sure that is draining properly. Condenser coil should be cleaned to bring the system to as high efficiency as possible
Estimate is to replace a 12 “ supply duct from the supply plenum.
Need to replace 12 Inch supply air duct, and inspect if the condensation was produced by the unit. Ductwork saturation may be a result of the previous rain, however needs to be inspected during duct replacement. Sending over estimate.
Checked the unit operations and found no current issues. Performed a drain line cleaning to rid any clogs, however it is doubtful this was the issue. The compressor compartment is rusted through, possibly causing leakage through the bottom of the cabinet. The RTU was the only unit with fresh tar for the roofline. Took photos to document.
