Jake Kring. 09-16-2024. I arrived for a new customer thermostat replacement. I first spoke with the homeowner and we discussed his system running all the time and it will only hold the temperature the thermostat is set on but will not shut off during the day. We discussed that he has had his system inspected and tuned up by other companies and they recommended to replace the 3 ton system on this 5 ton home with a 5 ton system replacement. We further discussed the issue with the system and its sizing issue on a bigger home and we inspected the duct work. I explained that I can replace the thermostat but it will still not shut off if the system or the duct work is not sized correctly or working properly. We already knew we did not want to replace this 8 year old system when we started to discuss duct sizing and air flow issues. We inspected the duct work and found the system to only be bringing in a little over 800 cfm on a 1200 CFM system. We also found that the supply side is undersize
