Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that the upstairs unit wasn’t cooling properly. I checked the system over and found the system not running properly due to a bad run capacitor. Let customer know what I found and discussed repair cost. Customer approved repair. I replaced the capacitor and double checked operation of the system and refrigerant pressures. Motor and compressor amps are still running within range. Downstairs unit will need to be rechecked next summer service to see if it’s low on refrigerant. If it is, I told customer that we would discuss doing a leak search at that time. Both systems Are cooling properly at this time. Capacitor has a 1 year warranty.
