I arrived for a previous customer no cool call. I inspected the system and found the system to be a R22 23 year old system. I found the condenser fan motor to be locked up and overheated. I also found the compressor to be running and bypassing internally. The contactor was sparking and overheated due to the excess heat and high amp draw. I made this aware to the homeowner and offered to replace the motor and contactor tonight. I explained that if I do make the repairs there could still be more cost needed to get it running properly. I need the motor in to see how it’s running. I recommended to replace the system and offer financing if it helps. They are going to talk about it over night and let us know what they want to do.
