Water heater is leaking before tune up. I arrived for a non club member furnace tune up. I spoke with the homeowner and found that they are expecting to move soon and wanted to get the furnace tuned up and wanted to know if we worked on water heaters. I inspected the furnace and preformed a tune up on the gas furnace and inspected the 10 year old water heater located inside the hallway closet. The water heater by the furnace is only two years old at this time. I found the hallway water heater to be leaking at the drain valve and is corroding. I made this aware to the homeowner before we agreed to flush the water heater and lower the temperature on the water heater. I flushed the water heater into the bathroom bathtub and removed excessive amounts of sediment. Once the water heater stopped moving sediment through the flushing procedures I cleaned the tub and water heater closet.
