Jake Kring. 10-25-24. I arrived for a no cool call on a system we replaced a blower motor in. I spoke with the homeowner and they explained that the motor started making a noise then they smelled something like plastic burning. I inspected the system and found the blower motor bracket had failed and caused the wheel to grind on the housing locking the motor up and caused the motor to fail. I explained the cause of the breakdown and recommended to replace the system vs making more repairs on this 61 year old air handler. We discussed the cost availability of the system. We also discussed the issue with the closest being to small for a modern unit. I contacted the manufacturer to see if we could find a system that would fit in the same closet space and we found a apartment style air handler that is a matching 2 ton that should work in the same space. I explained that it’s not something that is normal installed in residential homes but we can try it and see how the system works. We decide
