I arrived for a new customer reinstall a old condenser. I inspected the system and found the line set to have been cut and not sealed properly. I found the system to be dirty and the condenser to have not been closed when it was disconnected. This can let Noncondensibles and dirt into the system. I gave the homeowner options on trying to use this old equipment and replacing the equipment. They wanted to try and use all old equipment. I made it known to the homeowner that this system is not connected in any way and after we connect the system there could be other repairs needed to get the system running properly. This cost is just to start reconnecting this old equipment. The homeowners understood the risk. We will remove the old line set and install a new lineset with thermostat wire. We will remove and clean the blower wheel and housing and evaporator coil. We will level and build a base under the pad with what center blocks they provided to raise the condenser off of the ground.
