Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that the system was coming on, but the outside condenser was making a weird noise. He explained that it sounded like the compressor wanting to come on, but not working. I checked system over and found a bad capacitor and the contactor heavily pitted. I went over repairs needed with customer and recommended a compressor saver kit. This kit included the contactor, and capacitor with a hard start kit for about the same price as just replacing the two components. Customer approved the compressor saver kit. I installed a new contactor, capacitor and added a hard start kit. Made sure all wires were secured and zip tied. Cycled AC on and unit came on with no issues and sounded good. Checked amps temperatures and pressures of condenser. System is now cooling properly within manufactured specifications.
