Came out to call. Customer stated that the mini split wasn’t shutting off properly and was constantly running. The temperature on the system was constantly fluctuating, but never reaching temperature. He has it set at 77 but the temp on the system was reading anywhere between 79 and 90 degrees. Checked sensor and found no issues. Had a hunch to check the penetration hole in the attic and found it not fully insulated. Put insulation in the open area and the temperature dropped and satisfied in about 5 minutes. Told customer I’d come back out and spray foam it, to ensure it’s not pulling/reading attic air temperatures. 6-16-2021 Came out and spray foamed the area that was causing the customer the issues previously. Insulated the whole so that hot attic air cannot tamper with the units temperature sensor.
