I arrived for a club member no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the system had ice on the outside. I checked the indoor evaporator coil and found it to be completely froze up. I showed the homeowner and her son my findings and we cycled the furnace on to melt the ice. While the ice was melting we discussed replacing the system but the homeowner has a home warranty company she wants to try first. I explained and had her sign a decline leak search form and explained that there is no warranty on the refrigerant. They agreed to add what refrigerant was needed to the system and to not preform a leak search. I added 3 pounds of R22 to get the system running.
