Came out to call for a customer concern about a noise she was hearing when the system was running. She purchased home last year and wanted to make sure nothing was going wrong. Customer said she could typically hear it at night, but would eventually go away. I checked the system over and found no issues with how the system was operating. What customer is hearing is the inducer motor when it initially first kicks on, and you can hear it in the home if you’re quiet. Inducer motor amps were within range and the bearings and mount are still in good shape. Advised customer that the units return ductwork is undersized for the system and the main return is a little loud in the hallway. Customer would like to keep unit as is for now.
