I arrived for a previous customer no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the outdoor system will not operate. I inspected the system and found that the fuses have failed. I replaced the fuses and found the system to come on. I did find the inrush amps to be pulling 43 amps and the fuse max amperage is 30. The system quickly drops to run about 13-15 amps and runs at that amp range. I also found the capacitor to be extremely weak but it was still operating. I recommended to rep the capacitor to prevent a breakdown in the future. I also recommended to install a compressor savor kit to help lower the inrush amps and the stress on the fuses and run capacitor. The homeowner only wanted to replace the fuses at this time. I expect to have this same problem or other problems with this system in the future if we do not replace the recommended components.
