Came out to call for a free second opinion on a system not functioning properly. Customer had another company out recently to check on the matter and stated that the control board was bad and needed to be replaced. Company quoted him a price and he felt that it seemed pretty high. They also gave him a quote for a new system that also seemed high. Told customer that I would verify the issue and discuss his options with him afterwards. I checked the system over and found the control board not operating. Transformer was sending proper 24 volts, but nothing was coming on. The plug to the control board is faulting out. I discussed with customer about what I found and went over pricing of repair and possible other options. Customer stated that he would like to just go with the repair for now, and plan for replacement later. I installed a new universal control board on the furnace, and changed out the ignitor as well. Cycled system on and checked operations to make sure system was functioning
