Came out to perform a tune up on system for customer. Customer stated that they haven’t had it serviced in a couple of years. I inspected the filters, blower assembly, motor, capacitor, electrical components, evaporator coil, drain and overall condition of equipment in closet. Washed condenser coil thoroughly. Inspected fan motor, compressor, contactor, capacitor, condenser coil and operation of system. Checked thermostat operation, wiring, amps, temperatures and pressures of condenser. AC unit was running below recommended manufactured specifications according to data plate. Needed to add refrigerant to get it back in range and to help system cool home more efficiently. Customer approved charging the AC with refrigerant. I added 1.3lbs of 410a to get proper superheat. System is now cooling properly.
