Sam J - arrived to service a recently installed condenser and coil that wasn’t cooling well. Customer explained that the temperature just would not come down no matter what time of day. I first inspected the evaporator coil to make sure there wasn’t anything blocking the airflow. It was then that I noticed that the temperature of the refrigerant lines were abnormal. Once making it to the condenser, I realized that the fan blade had come off of the motor. Once I pull the top, it seems as though the setscrew was not tightened from the manufacture, but was tired enough to operate for some amount of time. I inspected the shaft of the motor, the hub of the blade and the coil for any damage. I was able to put the blade back onto the motor and then powered up the unit and allow the system to run for several minutes. The setscrew is tight and motor is functioning properly. System is cooling on demand.
