Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that the unit wasn’t cooling the home down. I checked system over and found that it needed to to be cleaned. I washed the condenser coil and rechecked system. Unit does not sound great mechanically. Compressor is struggling. Checked capacitor and unit amps and everything is within range. Unit seemed to be slightly undercharged. Added about 8 Oz’s of 410a and noticed system pressures weren’t really moving much. Checked coil temperature noticed a difference in temperature between the top and the bottom part of the evaporator coil. I believe unit has a restriction, and therefore not allowing the system to cool properly discussed with customer about options and need for replacement due to condition and operation of system. Customer wants to leave unit as is for now and look into replacement at a later date. Let customer know that the system will not cool efficiently until problems are addressed.
