I arrived for a previous customer no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the outdoor system will not run. I inspected the system and found one fuse to have been blown. I replaced the fuse and found that the system came on and ran normally. I checked the inrush amps and found that the system is pulling 56 inrush amps and the max fuse size is 25. Over time this can weaken the fuse. I explained what inrush’s amps are and that if we agree to install a compressor savor kit it can lower that inrush amps and help prevent the high amp draw when the system first comes on. We agreed to install the compressor savor kit. I cycled the system off and installed the kit and cleaned the condenser. I then recheck the amps and found the inrush amps to have drops to 19 amps and the compressor drops to 7 amps while it’s running. Overall this system is running properly at this time. There is a one year warranty on the compressor savor kit.
