Responded to a service call regarding an inoperative Carrier 24ABC6 air conditioning system. Upon inspection, diagnosed a failed compressor based on high head pressure reading of 425 psi and lack of temperature split across the coil. Recovered remaining R-410A refrigerant using a Fieldpiece EVAC4WAY recovery machine. Replaced the compressor, accumulator, and filter drier with new Carrier OEM components. Evacuated system to 500 microns, then charged with 5 lbs of R-410A refrigerant per manufacturer specifications. Verified proper cooling operation by checking superheat, subcooling, and air temperature delta. Advised customer on expected equipment service life.
