Completed installation of new 50-gallon Bradford White water heater today. Removed old unit, which was leaking from bottom. Installed expansion tank and new shut-off valve as recommended. Updated piping to meet current code requirements. Tested water temperature and pressure relief valve. Everything functioning properly. Customer very satisfied with quick turnaround time, especially since they'd been without hot water for two days. Left area clean and hauled away old unit.
Completed water heater repair for a residential customer in Anderson today. Their Bradford White 50-gallon gas unit was not maintaining consistent water temperature, frequently delivering lukewarm water. Diagnostic testing revealed two issues: a failed thermocouple preventing proper burner ignition and significant sediment buildup in the tank. Replaced the thermocouple with a factory-approved part and performed a complete tank flush to remove accumulated minerals. Also cleaned burner assembly which showed signs of corrosion that was affecting flame pattern. Checked gas pressure to ensure it met manufacturer specifications - was slightly low, adjusted to proper level. Tested for any gas leaks after service - none detected. Verified proper operation through multiple heating cycles with consistent temperature output. Tank is now operating at peak efficiency.
