Just finished a summer maintenance check on a Trane XR14 system in Easley! System was running okay but not cooling as well as it should. Found condenser coils absolutely caked with pollen and debris - no wonder it was struggling in this heat! Gave those a thorough cleaning which made a huge difference in airflow. Also noticed the fan blades were slightly bent (probably from storm debris) which was causing some vibration. Straightened those out and the unit's running whisper-quiet now. Checked refrigerant levels which were right on target. Replaced the air filter which was completely clogged - reminded homeowner this needs changing every 2-3 months. Also cleaned condensate drain line which had some algae buildup starting. Everything's running top-notch now with proper temperature drop across the coils. Left them with some maintenance tips to keep things running smoothly through the rest of summer.
Just wrapped up a standard AC maintenance visit in Easley. System was running but not cooling efficiently. Found dirty filters (hadn't been changed in 8+ months) and significant debris in the outdoor unit. Cleaned coils thoroughly, replaced filters, and checked refrigerant levels - added 1lb of R410A to bring system to optimal pressure. Also lubricated all moving parts and tightened electrical connections. Fan motor showing early signs of wear - informed customer it may need replacement within 6-12 months. System now running much quieter and cooling effectively. Customer appreciated the heads-up about future maintenance needs!
I completed a water heater installation today, upgrading from an older 40-gallon unit to a new high-efficiency 50-gallon model. The water heater replacement required modifications to both the gas line and water connections to meet current code requirements. I installed an expansion tank and new temperature-pressure relief valve, ensuring proper overflow routing. During the water heater installation, I also upgraded the ventilation system with Category III stainless steel pipe and installed a new drain pan with leak detection. After completing the installation, I performed a thorough flush of the lines, verified proper gas pressure, and confirmed the temperature settings matched the homeowner's preferences.
