Dispatched our Sacramento CA A/C technician to address a communication loss issue for one of our customer's units. Inspected all controls equipment and confirmed operational, traced power issue back to the unit being off at the breaker. Communicated with management onsite and determined that the system had been shut off during recent re-roofing due to tar smell coming into store. Restarted system and confirmed all communications back online.

On arrival, checked in with store manager. Found t-stat not responding to touch. Pulled t-stat off of sub-base and found all 4 batteries were dead. Employees notified me that they had replace one that was not working and that they had changed the batteries twice because new batteries were going dead after 24hrs. I replaced the batteries with new ones. Found 24v from R to Y, G, W and to ground at sub-base. I found no voltage between R and C at the sub-base. Gained roof access. At the unit, isolated R an C t-stat wires from circuit. Tied R and C together at unit. Found no continuity running through them at the sub- base. Will have to quote a new 5 wire run from unit to t-stat. Run is 40ft in length. Obtained signature on work acknowledgment.

Our commercial refrigeration technician returned to a customer in Sacramento CA to continue repairs on their Traulsen freezer. The unit had been completely iced up the day before and was now defrosted. Our tech troubleshooted the system and found it low on refrigerant. Will quote a leak repair and return. Box is at 0 degrees at this time.
