I repaired a Carrier 24ACC6 air conditioner today in Rincon, GA. The condenser fan motor had failed, so I replaced it with a US Motors 1/3 HP 208-230V motor using a Husky toolkit. I vacuum-cleaned the coils, replaced the contactor, and recharged the system with R-410A refrigerant using a Robinair recovery machine.
Wed. morning in Rincon, began the process of cleaning the ducts. I removed the registers and cleaned them individually with a brush and vacuum. I then used a hose with a brush attachment to clean the inside of the ducts. After cleaning the ducts, I reattached the registers and secured them back in place. Finally, I tested the airflow to ensure the ducts were working properly. Clean air for the customer was very important, kid in home with bad allergies. All looks good and clean now!
