Service agreement clean and check on a 9 -10 year old split heat pump system. Went to clean the evaporator coil. Noticed residual oil on the evaporator rings and bottom of drain pan. Checked refrigerant level. System has a leak on the evaporator coil , checked charge and it it approximately a little less than half low. Checked over rest of system. Low pressure switch has been bypassed at some point in the past, thatâ€™s why the system kept running out side. Client wanted prices on a new coil vs. prices on replacing the system. Client is going to change the system but needs to wait till Saturday when his wife gets home to see if they want to go ahead and pay for it or finance it for 12 months.

Diagnostic call. Renters said outdoor unit is making a noise. Turned system on. System came on then blower stopped running. Looked over air handler in the attic and unit outside. Clients thermostat is bad. Explained that the outdoor unit will be very loud if the blower isnâ€™t running. Put pictures in equipment of old thermostat. Installed a new thermostat. Ran system. Unit is heating and cooling properly now.
