I replaced a condenser fan motor on a KitchenAid refrigerator because the unit was not cooling properly. The condenser fan motor is located at the back of the refrigerator and is responsible for circulating air over the condenser coils. Over time, the motor can become worn out or damaged, which can cause the refrigerator to not cool properly. To replace the condenser fan motor, I first removed the back panel of the refrigerator. This panel is secured with screws and requires some effort to remove. Once the panel was removed, I could access the condenser fan motor. The condenser fan motor is connected to the motor shaft by a belt. I removed the belt from the motor shaft and then removed the motor from the refrigerator. To install the new condenser fan motor, I first cleaned the mounting surface of the refrigerator and the condenser fan motor. I then installed the new motor onto the mounting surface and secured it with the belt. I also connected the electrical wires to the new motor.
