Josh and Tyler did a fantastic job

We had a major panel replacement an upgrade that took three days. Josh and Tyler were thorough, professional and a pleasure to work with. They made sure everything was done properly and cleaned up after all the work was completed. They stayed very late on the third day to make sure the house had power everywhere. We would definitely use Haas again for electrical work.

Reason for today’s visit with the customer was troubleshooting a non working light in the kitchen. Upon troubleshooting it I discovered the ballast had gone out on it. I recommended replacing it with a new Integrated LED light that is roughly the same size. The panel is an older General Electric panel that is in dire need of replacing. The neutral bar is corroded, the breakers are showing signs of overheating, and the panel in general is beyond its expiration date. Beside it is a FPE Disconnect that the A/C company bypassed and used as a junction box. However, they landed their wires under the FPE Terminals and because they didn’t fit they cut off many of the strands for the ground. I provided a quote to replace the panel. This quote includes permitting, emergency disconnecting means, and surge protection as required by current electric Code. He also complained of the attic fan having gone out. I recommended replacing it with a new QuietCool Attic fan. We would replace the old motor an

Arrived onsite and the resident told me about genny looking at the outlet in the bedroom and not doing anything about it, and apparently said to the resident that her radio alarm clock was causing the outlet not to work. I could tell someone had pulled it out so i did as well and found that the connections were poorly made in the back of the box, and someone wrapped the jacket around the screws but didn’t strip the wire or tape it in an old metal box. I fixed the connections, stripped out the pigtails that were put on and taped and reinstalled the outlet and it now works properly. Apparently there was some confusion with what was done last time as well with the post light which i was able to clear up. In troubleshooting i found that the post light worked fine off the photocell, but the post head is currently going bad and flickers on and off on its own(when the photocell puts power to it) and is controlled by the farthest switch in the front door. After taking care of those things she

Arrived onsite and the resident showed me to the powder room where the exhaust fan needed to be replaced. It had aluminum wiring going to it and to both of the switches in the bathroom so we had a discussion about that as well. The exhaust fan does have a duct out the front of the house for that fan. We also preformed an assessment which showed that the panel needs replaced sooner then later as well, so i talked to him about that as well. I wrote up several options but he didn’t plan to spend that much today so he wasn’t able to select any options. I also went over the fact that we offer financing as well and showed him what that would look like also. He would like the quotes emailed to him

Reason for today’s visit with the customer was for a few odds and ends tasks. The GFCI in the kitchen beneath the sink was tripped and was reset. In the upstairs bedroom the fan light never turned off so I examined the wiring hoping to use another switch leg to control it. Unfortunately the remote receiver in the fan only has one switch leg capability. In the bathroom the smart switch is unreliable. It works sometimes and other times doesn’t. I believe it is a failing smart switch but customer and I were unable to identify the make a model. The oven works intermittently but has correct voltage. Multiple repairman have replaced the board in it but it still works intermittently. I believe the home was hit by a surge at one point and hit the microprocessors in a lot of the home. The panel is the largest concern. It is original to the home and is showing extreme signs of aging. The main lugs have rust, the neutral bar is overheating, the breakers are corroding, and the panel casing is rus

Arrived onsite and was shown to the upstairs bathrooms exhaust fans that are currently there, and the moisture issue they are having. She also made mention that they want an attic fan, but when we went up to look there already was one, but it just wasn’t working. I took pictures and Tyler went up into the attic to get pictures as well, and i wrote up a few options after we had talked. One for the 3 exhaust fans, one for the exhaust fans and timer switches in the 2 locations there isn't timer switches, and then one with all of that plus replacing the attic fan as well. The resident wants to think about this decision for now and will let us know soon.

Arrived onsite and the resident began walking me through the issues he was having in the house. After testing i was led to the electrical panel where i found a qo double split bus style panel that was so badly corroded it was affecting voltage output on the breakers, was way out of date, and had a lot of burning happening on the breakers. I ended up talking to them about the aluminum wiring, the state of the panel, and then aluminum remediation as well to the husband, and once i sat down to write quotes the wife came home so i re-explained everything to her as well that i found and then went on to wrote up options for the residents to address the issues they are having.

Arrived onsite and the resident led me to the attic where he explained how hot it gets, the lack of circulation and his old house setup and what he is looking for. After going up into the attic and looking we would have to cut the plywood away from the gable vents because they overlapped the vent holes quite a bit. We would have to build a 2x4 frame around the gable opening on the right side of the house so it can properly be vented. On the left side gable opening we would also have to cut away the plywood so both ends of the attic are equally open. I talked to him about the standard fans vs quite cool and wrote up some options. I also made sure to let the resident know that it doesn’t happen often but if a nail pop is to occur it would need to be patched by him, but i wouldn’t need to be directly doing any drywall damage. After discussing options and what would be needed to complete the work he went with the quiet cool smart fan option and we got it scheduled for 7/15 at the 8:00am t

Arrived onsite and was asked if i could extend some wiring for the alarm system that they don’t use because when the flooring got put down it was reran and goes across the doorway now. After looking at it, it tied into the buildings fire alarm system so I recommended they call their HOA/ the company that controls that if they need it extended to prevent setting off any alarms. They also mentioned they may be renting in the near future as well so i did a performance and safety inspection and the only thing i found was a lack of whole home surge protection in the main panel for the condo. I wrote up an option for that but the resident had to hop into a meeting so they will call back when they’re ready.

Arrived onsite today and met the resident in the garage area where he showed me the charger he wants to use. Then he showed me down to the panel area. I could tell by opening it that it was already overloaded, and adding an ev would only overload it more. I opened the panel and began inspecting and found it was an old split bus cutler hammer, that was in really really bad shape, the breakers inside were actively crackling and sparking , as well as cutting in and out of connectivity.. the resident was there for this and we had a discussion about replacing the panels and the process for that, as well as doing the ev, so I wrote up a few options all including the panel because that was the biggest safety issue with this visit. We also talked about running a dedicated feed from the new panel over to the bathroom on the opposite side of the house, that would go up and feed the exhaust fan with a heater built into it. After presenting options the resident was on the same page and ready to mo
