The reason for today’s visit with the customer was a quote for ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms located on the second floor. After introducing to the customer, the customer then showed me each location that he wanted the fans installed upstairs. Each bedroom had a switch controlled outlet currently and we would be turning that single gang to a two gang to aid in fan switch installation. After inspecting the areas of installation the customer then took me down to the panel located in the basement. I saw that the panel was a 2000 Square D Homeline panel with a 200 amp service. The panel had many violations such as double tapped neutrals and multiple shared neutral circuits where a two pole breaker was required. After we inspected the panel together, we then went back upstairs to the living room where the customer then wanted a second quote on adding six 6 inch recessed lights.
