Arrived on the job site and the customer explained that he was gathering multiple quotes for a car charger installation. I presented our proposed solution, but the customer felt the price was too high. I reviewed our guarantees with him, including our 5-year transferable warranty on the installation. He then mentioned that he received another quote from a small independent contractor for $650 and planned to move forward with that option. I contacted my supervisor to see what we could do to help the customer, and we were able to offer our lowest possible price of $1,018.34. The customer stated that he was still looking for a solution below $650 and decided not to proceed at this time. I provided him with our proposal and let him know he can call us if he chooses to move forward. The customer was 100% satisfied with today’s visit.
In the master bedroom there was an outlet box that the plastic tabs had broken as they were over tightened which cause the box to come out of the wall. I replaced the wings and remounted the box to resolve the issue. In the back bedroom an old outlet was left so I removed it and installed a blank coverplate. The dishwasher circuit was having issues and the breaker was very hot to the touch and it turned off the island outlets as well. Replaced both breakers as they were not properly functional. Discovered the exterior box was missing silicone so added that the protect the wires. The smoke detectors were battery powered but not interconnected. To remedy the proper detectors have been ordered and we will return to install once they have arrived. October 24 returned to installed interconnected smoke detectors and also while there was able to install the outlet for the insta hot under the sink.
Next Friday, oct 10th/ 8-11. Customer needed to add a dedicated circuit for a blowup hot tub in the backyard and also a dedicated circuit for their Traeger. Also needed a three plugs added in the ceiling in the backyard for an oscillating fan a TV and some string lights. And one on the left side in the E their Traeger. Also need a three plugs added in the ceiling in the backyard for an osculating fan a TV and some string lights. And one on the left side in the Eve for jellyfish lighting.
Installed new electrical panel, whole house surge protection
Arrived to look at issue with outlets not operating after the home owner was pressure washing the pack patio and they lost power to the kitchen outlets and back porch outlets. Upon arrival tested the outlet and the gfci were able to be reset and resume operation. Provided a quote to replace the federal pacific panel located in the garage and bring the entire service up to current 2023 NEC code. We will install all safety devices such and the ground system and whole house surge. Oncor will need three days prior notice for disconnect/reconnect. As well as quoting the panel the home owner needs a 40 amp circuit installed to have a new induction cooktop installed as the current circuit is only 20 amp. Quotes are good for thirty days.
Customer was remodeling the kitchen and had taken down a wall, which had a couple of plugs such as the fridge, plug and range plug on it. Explain to customer we would have to install J boxes in the ceiling and extend the wire and put blank covers on the J boxes because we can’t cover it up. Then from the boxes we can extend the circuit down to the desired locations. Explain to customer he will have to pull a permit and we will pull a permit under his general contractors permit. Quote good for 30 days.
