Arrived on the job site. The customer stated that the smoke detector in the upstairs hallway was chirping, indicating it was failing. I installed a new 10-year, sealed-battery, hardwired combination smoke/CO₂ detector in the upstairs hallway. I also noticed there was no signal wire present, so the unit operates only at that location, and there are no additional interconnected smoke detectors throughout the home. The customer stated she did not want to proceed with installing additional smoke detectors and only wanted the one we replaced today. She also declined additional quotes. The customer is 100% satisfied with today’s service and understands that the new smoke detector includes a 10-year warranty on both labor and materials.
