Check low voltage switch for pilot light for fireplace. And also check the plug in the fireplace and I had 120 V on the plug. Could not locate the transformer, feeding the fireplace and explain to customer that he will have to get a fireplace guy out to look at the fireplace and see why it’s not working properly. It was not the electrical though for what I was allowed to work on and was all something to do with fireplace. Customer also had multiple lights throughout the house some in the bathroom, kitchen area, pantry, living room, and other places that were not working properly. Customer also had a sprinkler system, and compressor in the AC unit and a couple other items that went bad. Explain to customer he was 100% hit by a surge that fried all of these lights, fireplace, and other items. Customer is going to replace the light fixture himself and highly recommended. He gets a different search protector on panel.
Arrived on job site customer stated that she wanted a ceiling fan to be installed in one of her bedrooms. Ended up completing the installation. Customer does have a five-year warranty on all connections and installment, but not the ceiling fan itself. Customer is 100% happy and satisfied with today’s visit.
Arrived on-site, and the customer stated that they had been out of town and noticed upon returning home that their AC condenser was not working properly. Performed a lightning electrical safety inspection throughout the home to ensure everything was functioning correctly. While checking the outlets, noticed that they were wrapped and tied in, but nothing was damaged except for the customer’s Peloton bicycle, indicating that a surge had come through the panel. Informed the customer that the existing surge protector failed to perform as intended and is also out of code. Explained that the builder-grade surge protectors installed in panels often give a false indication of protection. Recommended replacing the surge protector along with addressing other safety concerns found during the inspection. The customer stated they would like some time to consider the options and chose to proceed only with the safety evaluation for now. The customer was 100% happy and satisfied with today’s visit.
