Customer was having an issue with house breaker feeding apartment in main panel tripping. Did a troubleshoot and found that the tankless water heater that is all electric is pulling way too much power on the 60 amp breaker feeding the apartment. Explain to customer the wire is undersized for the panel that he has out at the apartment and the breaker is way undersized. Explain that we will have to feed a portion of the circuit and install a bigger breaker and that still will most likely not fix their issue due to the tankless water heater pulling so much power at such a long distance away. Explain voltage drop how amperage works and did an amp draw on the main panel at the apartment and with nothing else running and just the water heater it was pulling 108 A. Gave options to make situation a little bit better but not fully fixed situation.

Arrived on the job site. The customer requested that I replace the Christmas Eve outlet breaker, which was originally a dual-function breaker. When I was here two days ago, the customer had purchased the wrong breaker, so today he provided the correct Square D QO GFCI breaker and installed it. After replacement, I restored power and verified that everything was functioning properly except for the far-left flower-bed lights. Those lights appear to have an issue either with the bulbs or with wiring between fixtures, as plugging them in causes the breaker to trip. The customer is 100% satisfied with today’s visit.
