Troubleshoot and repair lights, flickering around home and replace electrical meter base
Minor Troubleshoot of meter base and panel. Line voltage from utility was good. The load side (customer side) of the meter was missing a phase. Heat damage could be seen on line side lug from arching. Lug had deformed and loosened. Meter base (the can surrounding the meter) is deformed and pushing meter out of position to make a good connection and causing the arching. Had Oncor come out while I was there to check their connections and possibly change meter that could be damaged. Utility technician agreed to change meter out so that there would be no doubt about their side of things. It fit better than the old one when plugged in and both phases had power when I left. The symptoms of the warped can could present themselves again and if they do the only cure will be changing out the meter base. Changing out the meter base will require a permit/inspection and to pass other aspects of the electrical system will need to be brought up to code. I went over these options with the customer.
