Diagnosed Rheem R96VA0852521MSB gas furnace in Elkville reporting intermittent shutdowns. Testing revealed failed flame rectification circuit on existing SmartValve™ control. Multimeter showed irregular microamp readings fluctuating between 0.4-1.2μA. Replaced White-Rodgers 50M56U-843 control board and verified stable flame signal at 4.8μA. Multiple test cycles confirmed proper operation with consistent flame proving.

System was nearly out of Puron. Turned off outdoor coil and left system in electric heat mode until a leak search can be performed. 1/26/24: Found leak in distributor tubing coming from outdoor metering device, will come back to repair leak soon. Customer still has emergency heating 1/29/24: Returned to repair leak, charged unit properly and made sure system is working properly System is heating at this time
