Call for tub not draining. Toilet and vanity draining without issue. Used small cable to clear blockage. Some hair returned on cable but otherwise blockage did not appear to be caused by misuse or neglect. PVC drain line present in yard, water flowing freely. Some cast iron may remain under house, which could have caught hair over time. Ran water for approximately five minutes after clearing. Cleaned site and work space.
Cut out old cast iron ptrap and install new pvc. Customer stated that once we left, they ran tub and tub started leaking. Returned and found that P-trap had a hole in it so went ahead and installed new PVC p trap and tested. During test found out now overflow was also leaking. Went ahead and installed new waste and overflow kit. Tested by filling tub multiple times in dropping and also for running about 10 minutes and no leaks were present at this time. Cleaned up work area.
Upstairs behind lavatory faucet cut out section of broken cast iron piping and replace with new pvc piping. Lavatory vanity will need to be removed in order to have access to pipe. Also will need to cap hot and cold water lines. Chen plumbing may remove vanity but won’t be responsible for putting it back and also won’t be responsible if broken Went ahead and completed quoted work. Tested and no leaks present at this time. Customer also wanted us to reinstall vanity so we did so. Installed new service valves and supply lines. There will be no warranty on service valves and or vanity hook up due to vanity not being properly supported. Tested all connections and no leaks present at this time. Cleaned up work area. Also, if there’s any other leaks on cast-iron, there will be an additional charge to make repair.
Customer had insurance come out and remove cabinets and cut ceiling in kitchen. Found cast-iron break upstairs behind vanity in hall bath. Stated to customer that vanity will need to come out in order to do work. Will send customer estimate to fix leak. Customer wants to proceed with work but wants to wait to get in contact with insurance before starting job. Will credit back $125 if customer signs estimate.
Water heater not working upon arrival. Customer stated the water heater was no longer heating. Informed customer the water heater would need to be replaced and the galvanized water lines going to it would need to be swapped over to copper.
Gave customer options for repair/replacements. Customer will call back with answer after decision.
Customer stated that laboratory faucet up stairs was backing up and leak. Found that when we ran water in lavatory that water came out through kitchen cabinets. Do to location of leak and access recommend reliable restoration to come and remove cabinets first before any plumbing work is done. Also tested pressure to home and pressure was about 115 psi. Gave customer options on repairing pressure issue at this time. Customer didn’t want to proceed with repairs.

Call for gas leak. Arrived and spoke with Christopher about concerns. He stated 5at his neighbor said they smelled gas outside of the house, so Christopher called Atlanta gas light to check his gas. AGL checked his gas and stated he may have a leak near the water heater. Upon checking I found the flexible gas line was not tightened all the way. While inspecting for problem I also found that the water pressure was extremely high, and very dark rust colored water came out of the water heater when I checked pressure. Thermal expansion tank bladder has also ruptured. I recommended replacing the pressure regulating valve immediately. Christopher stated he would like an estimate provided for the work. I discussed finance options available if needed.
Replaced PRV and installed a shut off valve, replaced water heater, repaired two leaks. Set water heater up on blocks.
Leak in master bathroom ceiling above shower. Filled tub upstairs and heard dripping soon as we pulled the drain. Informed customer we would need to cut a hole in the ceiling. Found copper u trap in ceiling that was leaking from a join and old fernco. Gave customer estimate to replace copper drain with pvc ptrap. Customer approved estimate. Installed new pvc fittings and ptrap. Tested system, system is draining with no leaks or issues.
Camera scope sewer line customer is thinking of buying the home. Customer approved estimate through Tim. Sewer cleanout is in a very tight spot in crawlspace. Was only able to run camera 25 foot due to 3 pipe separations. On the 3rd separation my camera couldn’t make it over the hump. Informed customer to have the county come out and mark where the tap is so we can give estimate to reroute sewer line from crawlspace to city tap.
Augered upstairs toilet. No sign of back up occurring with any other fixtures. Restored flow to toilet. Flushed with and without paper 5x in a row. No further issue occurring currently.
