Returned and installed a new 80 gallon electric heater with a new pan, thermal expansion tank, and shutoff. Hauled away the old heater. Tested all water lines to ensure proper function and no leaks. Put an electrical tester on the elements to ensure power was going properly to the unit. When turning the water back on to the home, I noted when in incoming line to the heater was isolated, that water was trickling into the tank from the hot side. This could be due to a cross connection. Asked customer if they had experience any crossover issues and they haven’t. Made the customer aware of what I observed.

Customer reported the toilet and sink gurgling while draining. The half bathroom was also experiencing issues. Upon inspection, it was determined that the stoppage was located outside the home, leading towards the septic tank. The customer was advised that we could attempt to clear blockage with our equipment, but there will be no guarantee of success. The customer approve this course of action. We attempted to clear the drain and retrieve roots from the line. However, the line remains submerged, and the stoppage persist. Due to the location of the blockage, being near the septic tank, further attempts risk equipment loss. The customer was informed that the best solution would be to contact excepted service company to further investigate and address the main issue. Customer acknowledged and understood the recommendation.
