Today I completed the installation of a new 50-gallon Rheem Performance Plus electric water heater for a homeowner. I began by safely disconnecting and removing the old, failed unit. I then secured the new water heater in place, connected the cold water inlet, hot water outlet, and installed the temperature/pressure relief valve in accordance with local plumbing codes. I wired the 240V electrical connections and filled the tank, checking for any leaks. After performing a full system test, I programmed the thermostat to the desired temperature setting. The customer now has a reliable source of hot water for their home.
