We were called out for a no hot water issue by Richard. Richard just bought the home and has only lived in here a few days. We found that the water heater was only a year old. We offered to diagnose his no heat issue and we found that the water heater lights and keeps a pilot nut fire not burn. We found that the glass vile for the burner chamber had ruptured due to make-up air issue or back drafting issue. We saw that the doors for the mechanical closet were not louver doors and they had a whole house fan. These issues can cause a negative pressure in the home that will have your heating equipment starving for fresh air. We contacted Rheem and they sent out the replacement parts for the unit that will be sent to the home owners property. We also will have to make a correction on the slope of the exhaust pipe for the water heater. Richard chose to do both of these repairs. We collected for our diagnostic.
