Upon arrival I touched base with home owner. He told me he wasn’t getting hot water and showed me to the water heater in garage. After checking out water heater I found it was leaking from the base and the top. The water heater was wrong size. With that being said. The water heater was a 30 gallon and at least should have been a 40 gallon. The water heater was sitting on boards that were on top of stand. The water heater was still 4-6 inches from touching the gas vent. No expansion tank or drip leg. After giving customer options to replace water heater. We could not come to a conclusion. I was then asked to leave. With that I left the resident.
