I arrived today to perform a camera inspection on the drain lines to the leach field. Previously the septic tank backed up and had trouble with drainage. The outlet was still uncovered which I used for access. I began by running the camera, but only made it 10-15 feet before the camera was fully submerged in water. It was impossible to see if there was a blockage of any kind, or root intrusion. I traced the leach field which seemed to be pointed towards wooded area. Reasons for the lack of drainage from the septic tank could occur from multiple things such as the soil’s inability to accept the water, and a build up of biomat, to name a few. I attempted to pull the original septic permit from Chatham County’s website, however it was not available. This would give me insight of location of the drain field.
