Completed inspection of 12 hydrants in northeast quadrant of Carrboro today. One hydrant (#C-87) found completely inoperable due to seized operating nut - tagged out of service and notified fire dept immediately. Scheduled for emergency replacement tomorrow AM. Remaining hydrants operational but two showing reduced flow capacity due to mineral buildup. Scheduled for flushing next week. Documentation submitted to municipal water authority. Critical safety issue addressed promptly!
