We initially met a few years prior to finally coming to an agreement. They had an older home in Edwardsville’s historic St. Louis Street District. A few years after our initial proposal, the city of Edwardsville cited them for the poor condition of their siding (which was flaking, peeling, and rotted in some areas). We ended up replacing all windows with Beechworth Windows and a full James Hardie Historic Renovation utilizing historic window trim surrounds and a 5” lap reveal. HB&G ProCast recessed columns topped off the renovations on the front porch.
They had storm damage to their roof and aluminum siding. We met with them after they had been turned off by many of the storm chasers working in the area. We met and presented a proposal to re-roof their home with a new Certainteed architectural roof system and replacing their aluminum siding with James Hardie. We utilized a 5” reveal Gray Slate James Hardie lap siding and historic window trim surround utilizing Fypon headers and cellular PVC historic sill trim.
We initially met with them roughly 2-3 years before they ended up buying. Initially started as an insulated vinyl siding & window opportunity. They were simply wanting to improve the look & energy efficiency of their home as they had builder grade windows and old weathered vinyl siding. We revisited the project a few years later and they had much bigger ideas. We switched the siding to James Hardie (khaki brown), did an El Dorado Stone wainscot on the front elevation, replaced the front door with a Provia Signet Fir Craftsman style door, and Simonton 5500 windows throughout.
Met with us initially regarding replacement of their failing Masonite siding on their home. Upon initial meeting, we uncovered their desire for a new front entry way and front porch portico. We ended up crafting a proposal to address all items. We installed a Provia Signet Cherry 8’ French Entry Door System with sidelites to the front entry doorway. We built an all new custom arched front porch portico with very detailed/ornate trim profiles. We installed Deep Ocean James Hardie Lap & Shingle siding to home’s exterior.
They sought us out due to failing/deteriorating panel siding on their home. We ended up removing all panel siding, re-sheathing the home with new plywood/osb, and then installing James Hardie lap siding in gray slate. We installed Beechworth Windows throughout as well. Overhauling the look of their home, while solving the problem of deteriorating materials on the exterior was their motive.
