Hand excavated around the leaking valve, needed to expose more of it to find fittings that could be used to make new connections at. Turned water to property at the street. Cut into the 3/4†galvanized water pipe, this allowed us to start unthreading all the pipe and fittings we needed to to remove the leaking valve and gain access to 2 clean fittings that we can tie into. Used brass and copper fittings with a quarter turn ball valve to make the repair. After turning the water back on we found that this line supplies the house with water. This is now the whole house main shut off Recommendation to leak uncovered for a short period of time to make sure the repair is good and to place a box of the valve.
