Long manufacturing delay, but great windows



We ordered Schwinco brand, impact rated windows. There was Covid as well as the manufacturer decided to re-work their manufacturing process. Folker’s, as well as their clients were left hanging. Folker’s also had some personnel turnover that resulted in a temporary “black hole” of information. This issue was fixed after about a month or so and we started hearing from Hilton who kept us informed about the manufacturing delays. The Schwinco windows are OUTSTANDING!! They have a light green tint - very similar to a pair of RayBan aviator sunglasses that looks amazing. The frames and locks are so much more sturdy and smooth as compared to our previous windows. We love the actual windows. The install crew was meticulous, clean and addressed any issues I had during install. They replaced 29 windows in just 4 days. They were polite and very business focused but always willing to answer my questions. Daniel and Nick - thank you! The efficiency of even the best window is negated without a quality installation. You guys did an awesome job. The ONLY reason the experience wasn’t 5 stars across the board was that it took over a year (13.5 months to be exact) to get our windows. The other reason (which has been fixed) is that our original salesman left Folker’s and no one was keeping us informed. But, like I said earlier, Hilton Perry is the new contact and he did a great job of digging to get answers from Schwinco and then relaying that status to us. Folker’s had no real control with the manufacturing delay, however, that still impacted our experience as a customer. The windows are superb! They better be because they are EXPENSIVE! When we bought the house, we knew the windows required replacement. I DID NOT realize that the building code required “impact rated” windows. So, between Covid inflation on building materials and the price of the windows themselves, it was about triple the expense I had estimated. Nothing we could do but bite the bullet and cough up the money. So, overall experience and cost drop to 3 stars because these are extremely expensive and the year long delay as well as the month of limbo when Folker’s had their personnel shakeup. Quality of service gets 5 stars because of Hilton’s dedicated efforts to 1. Get an answer from Schwinco and 2. His efforts to keep us informed once he was in his job. The other aspect of the 5 stars for service was the install team of Daniel and Nick. They are young and they’ve got “tats”. If that’s something that bothers you, please don’t judge these young men on that! They are skilled, hard working and dedicated to a great install and that showed when they were finished.

Great review and yes we had manufacturing delays, yes the Shwinco windows are top notch (Folkers is an exclusive dealer for the Gulf Coast and has been for 25 years or so) and yes our install teams are rock solid (no sub contractors). The manufacturing issues are behind us as well. Thanks again.
