A radon mitigation system was installed on the exterior of the home in Lansing, Michigan, designed to safely reduce indoor radon levels. The system uses a PVC vent pipe connected to a suction point beneath the foundation, where a radon fan continuously draws radon gas from the soil. The pipe runs vertically up the outside wall for two stories, then routes around the eve of the roofline to discharge radon above the home, where it safely disperses into the atmosphere. This configuration keeps the system effective, visually unobtrusive, and compliant with EPA guidelines for radon mitigation in residential structures.
